I recently stayed at the Beijing New Century Hotel for three nights, and while the hotel had its perks, it also had some downsides. The friendly staff and decent dining options were a plus, but the rooms felt dated and I experienced some discomfort. Overall, it was an average stay.
Rooms
6.0
The room was large but lacked modern updates, with a rather bland decor. I was also put on a smoking floor despite requesting non-smoking. This was frustrating, especially since the room itself smelled strongly of smoke.

The staff was generally friendly and accommodating, even if their English wasn't the best. They did try to help when I needed assistance, and I appreciated their efforts.
Location
7.0
The hotel’s location was decent for exploring nearby attractions like the Beijing Zoo, but it's not ideal for the major tourist spots. It was easy to access public transport, which made getting around a bit easier.
Dining

I enjoyed the breakfast buffet, though it wasn’t anything too special. It was nice to have a mix of Chinese and western options, so there was something for everyone.
Facilities
7.0
The facilities were adequate, but I noticed some areas, like the shower layouts, needed improvement. Room service was available and the places to eat on-site were decent but closed quite early.

I mostly enjoyed my stay at the Beijing New Century Hotel. While I was upgraded to a spacious Executive Room, some areas of the hotel felt outdated. The dining options were decent, especially breakfast, but vegetarian choices were limited. Overall, it’s a good place to stay, though it could use some improvements.

The Executive Room was spacious and functional, but some of the standard rooms felt tired and outdated, especially with the brown decor. The bed was fine for a long trip, but not overly comfortable.

The Beijing New Century Hotel has its strengths in common areas and dining options, though the rooms could use significant updates. My experience was mixed; the staff was mostly responsive, but I faced issues with the room's condition and maintenance. Overall, it might be suitable for specific needs, but it didn't fully meet my expectations.
Rooms
5.0
The room I stayed in was quite old and felt stuffy, lacking proper air conditioning. Although I received a better room after requesting a change, the general maintenance was disappointing, and the carpets seemed in need of care. The setup, especially the shower, was also not ideal. it could use a redesign.
Service

The service had its bright spots, especially with the staff being friendly and accommodating. My check-in experience was quite smooth, but the lack of training on foreigner service was noticeable. I expected more from a better-rated hotel.
Location

While the hotel is not conveniently situated near popular tourist attractions, I found it easy enough to access public transportation, with a subway station just a five-minute walk away. Nearby shopping options were limited, which made securing items a hassle.

The dining options offered a great range, with quality selections from both Western and Chinese cuisines. I particularly appreciated the vast breakfast spread, which had something for everyone. though a few dining venues closed earlier than I would have liked.
Facilities
6.0
Facilities were quite standard, offering room service and housekeeping. I did notice that the fitness area and pool were accessible, which was a nice perk. However, I didn't find any unique features that made the stay particularly nice.

I had a solid stay at Beijing New Century Hotel, especially for business purposes. The service was really good and the check-in process was smooth. However, the location isn't exactly convenient for major tourist spots, and some rooms had issues with cigarette smoke lingering in the hallway. Overall, it's a decent choice if you're looking for a comfortable business trip.

My standard room was on the 22nd floor, clean and well-maintained, but a bit dark and some rooms had smoke odors, which was disappointing.

While it’s not near the main tourist attractions, the hotel is close to the Beijing Planetarium and a convenient Carrefour supermarket just across the street.
